DCLA Laboratory Certified Diamond Guarantee

The Diamond Certification Laboratory of Australia warrants that every certified diamond listed on the DCLA Diamond Exchange is:
- Accurately graded to the internationally recognised standards of the International Diamond Council (IDC) and the World Jewellery Confederation (CIBJO)
- A natural and untreated diamond
Why is such a Guarantee so important?
Incorrectly graded diamonds, synthetic and treated diamonds all represent threats to consumer confidence. Misrepresenting the value and quality of a diamond, whether by exaggerating the grades or not detecting and disclosing treatments and synthetics, has a damaging emotional and financial effect on you, the consumer. These threats are eliminated with accurate laboratory certification - always ask if your certified diamond comes with an accuracy guarantee from the diamond grading laboratory.
The mission of the DCLA is to increase consumer confidence in the purchasing of diamonds. A vital component for this confidence is accuracy and transparency in diamond grading. The DCLA Laboratory grades to the internationally accepted standards set by the IDC and CIBJO. The laboratory employs advanced equipment, accurate reference materials and grading rules and procedures set out by those bodies.
Conflict diamonds, although small in number, represent a significant threat to consumer confidence and the appeal and status of diamonds as the symbol of love. The industry, together with governments and NGO's, developed the Kimberley Process and put in place a System of Warranties. DCLA subscribes to this System of Warranties.
